First Regional Health Sciences and Nursing Conference 2010: “Caring Professionals towards Excellent Health Care”
12th - 14th October 2010 at SACC Convention Centre, Shah Alam, Selangor.
The conference is designed to address health problems and issues related to environmental health, medical imaging, medical technology, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, optometry and physiotherapy.
Interested health professionals are invited to submit their abstracts for oral / poster presentations or full papers to be published as proceedings.

Dietary Guidelines 2010
The Malaysian Dietary Guidelines 2010 was launched on 25 March 2010, in
conjunction with the 25th Scientific Conference of the Nutrition Society of
Malaysia. The soft copy of this Guidelines is now available on MOH website http://www.moh.gov.my.
Registration of nutritionists under the proposed Allied Health Professional Act The proposed Allied Health Professional Act
(AHP) Act is to ensure that Nutrition Science is practised by appropriately qualified professionals. Only graduates from university programmes that provide adequate training to enable them to carry out the required roles shall be recognised for registration as a Nutritionist under the proposed
AHP.
Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM has been requested by the Ministry of Health Malaysia to recommend university degrees that can be recognised for registration (i.e. the registrable qualifications) as a Nutritionist under the proposed AHP Act.
