Mix and match 
Different types of exercise offer different benefits. So Mix and match your exercises to get maximum benefit. 



Aerobic exercise

Examples:

Aerobic dancing, badminton, basketball, brisk walking, cycling, folk dancing, jogging, netball, roller skating, rope-skipping, sepak takraw, soccer, squash, stair climbing, swimming and tennis. 

Benefits:

  • Improves and maintains heart and lung fitness

  • Helps reduce weight

Exercises for suppleness (Calisthenics) 

Examples:
 
Arm swings, shoulder stretches, chin ups, calf stretches, leg raises, half squats, push-ups, sit ups, taiji, and trunk twisting. 

Benefits:

  • Good for warming -up and cooling -down

  • Improves muscle strength, endurance and flexibility

Exercises for strength

 Examples: 
Abdominal exercises, isometric exercises, weight training and sprinting. 

Benefits:

  • Improves muscle strength

  • Improves endurance
