Resipi Sihat, Pilihan Bijak (Jilid 1)

The Ministry of Health assigned the re-publication and distribution of the above book to NSM in June 1998. NSM appointed Versacomm Sdn Bhd to take care of the production and printing of the book. It was to be a completely new layout, with photographs retaken and with both B. Malaysia and B. Inggeris. The book was published with sponsorship from the food industry and acknowledgement to the sponsors were in the form of advertorials and advertisements in the book. The book was launched by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Abu Bakar Suleiman, KPK on 30 April 1999.

The initial printing of 20,000 copies was completely sold out in less than 2 months. Subsequently, two further reprintings of 20,000 copies each had to be done due to the good demand for the book. Todate, almost 50,000 copies have been sold, not just in the Klang Valley but also in various states as well. Those states with the most sales are Kuala Lumpur, Perak and Johore. The sale has mostly been through nutritionists and dietitians. Members who wish to help us to promote the book (and make a small income at the same time) are invited to contact me.

We believe that we have met the objective of making available the book cheaply (sold at RM6 if purchased from NSM secretariat directly) and to large segments of the population. We are very glad to be able to contribute to MOH's effort to disseminate the messages of healthy eating through the publication of the health recipe book.

Resipi Sihat, Pilihan Bijak (Jilid 2)

A different approach has been taken in publishing volume 2 of this book in that recipes have been requested from different states in the country. An editorial committee (editor-in-chief: ES Tee; secretary: Zalma Abd Razak; members: Mary Easaw, Zanariah Jiman, Ruzana Abdullah, Nor Shafizah bt Mohd Nor, Mageswary) has been examining these recipes, testing them and making suggestions for amendments.

MOH has again assigned NSM to publish and distribute the book. We have again appointed Versacomm to assist us in this effort. The book shall also be printed with contributions from several companies to meet printing cost. We would like to publish the book as soon as possible. We hope members of NSM will help us to promote the book. We should sell even more copies than the previous volume.

Chief Editor, Resipi Sihat
